YOU'RE IN. NICE MOVE.

We got your request. A coach will call or email you shortly to book your free drop-in class. That's it.

Heads up: the call will come from (908) 360-5112 - save it to your contacts so it doesn't look like spam.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

THREE STEPS BETWEEN YOU AND THE MAT.

1

WE REACH OUT

A coach, not a salesperson, calls or emails within one business day to answer your questions and find a class time that fits your week.

2

YOU SHOW UP

Arrive about 15 minutes early. We'll give you a quick tour, introduce you to our regulars, and get you (or your child) set up with a loaner Gi if needed.

3

YOU TRAIN

Take the full class. Afterwards, if you want to talk programs and pricing, we will. And if you just want to think it over, that's fine too.

WHILE YOU WAIT

QUICK TIPS FOR FIRST-TIMERS

None of this is required. People show up with nothing and do fine. But if you want to feel 100% prepared on day one, here's the playbook.

Eat light, eat early

Finish any real meal 2+ hours before class. A heavy stomach and grappling are a famously bad combination. A banana or a light snack an hour out is perfect.

🍽️

Bring slide-on footwear

Mat rule #1: no shoes on the mat, no bare feet off it. Flip-flops or slides make the walk between mat and bathroom easy and keep the mats clean for everyone.

🩴

Trim your nails

Fingernails and toenails to avoid scratching your partners. Your training partners will silently thank you. It's the most appreciated bit of mat etiquette there is.

💅

Come clean, leave sweaty

Fresh clothes every class and good hygiene are how everyone stays healthy. After your class, please take home and wash the loaner Gi, and return it the next time you come back.

🧼

Hydrate all day

Dehydration can seriously impact performance on the mat. Start drinking water in the afternoon. You'll sweat more than you expect during class.

💧

Pack water and a towel

A full water bottle and a small towel are the whole kit. There's no fancy gear to buy for a first class. We've got the rest covered.

🎒

Wear snug, simple clothes

A t-shirt or rash guard and athletic shorts or leggings. Please no zippers, no pockets, no jewelry. Remove earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and watches before class.

👕

Expect to be a beginner

You'll be confused for the first few classes. That's normal. Everyone started this way, including the black belts. Confusion is the tuition and knowledge is what it buys.

😅

CAN'T WAIT FOR THE CALL?

Neither can we. Call or text us now and we'll book your class on the spot.
